I am not in a position to state the proportions in which industrial alcohol and mineral hydrocarbon light oils are blended by the petrol companies for the purpose of producing motor fuel for sale. I can, however, indicate, in respect of the three financial years concerned, the quantities (a) of industrial alcohol which were sold to the petrol companies and (b) of mineral hydrocarbon light oils which were cleared by them on payment of duty. These were as follows:—
