Vol. 147 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Rivers: Flood Damage.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state if he will have an emergency scheme carried out on the River Deale, in order to relieve the severe flood damage in the area; further, if he will have the breaches made by the recent floods on the banks of the River Foyle repaired.

The Commissioners of Public Works, acting as my agents, have made an engineering survey of the Rivers Deale and Swillyburn and adjacent embankments on the River Foyle. A decision as to what works should be carried out must await consideration of the engineering report. I am expecting the report shortly and will then consider whether a scheme can be carried out.
