Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment on Corrib Scheme.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the last three months (a) the weekly average number of unskilled labourers employed on the Corrib-Clare catchment drainage scheme, (b) the number of those so employed who were recruited through the social welfare office in Galway City, and (c) the number of those so employed who were recruited through the other social welfare offices in County Galway.

The average weekly number of unskilled labourers employed on the Corrib-Clare drainage scheme for the three months ended 19th March, 1955, was 33. Of this average the proportionate number of men recruited through the social welfare office in Galway City was 22, and through the social welfare office in Tuam 11.
