Statutory authority to carry out work of the nature referred to is conferred on the E.S.B. by Section 53 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927, as amended by Section 4 of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1935, and Section 46 of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1945.
