Vol. 150 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Howth Harbour.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the partial dredging carried out in Howth Harbour in recent years is inadequate and, if so, if he will arrange for a general dredging of the harbour; further, if he will state the number of dredgings carried out at this harbour in the last ten years and the total cost of such work.

Dredging at Howth Harbour is carried out from time to time as required for fishing boats and other commercial craft using the harbour. It is proposed to carry out over the next few years an extended programme of dredging—a start will be made in the autumn.

Dredging work was carried out there on five occasions during the past ten years at a cost of approximately £4,000.
