Vol. 150 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Perambulators in Botanic Gardens.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will publicise, by public advertisement in the newspapers and on the radio, the steps taken by him to facilitate the admission of perambulators to the Botanic Gardens, Dublin.

I do not think any advertisement in the matter is necessary. As I indicated when replying to a question by the Deputy on the 28th April last, go-cars and perambulators have been freely admitted into the Botanic Gardens since 1949.

Arising out of the reply, I should like to point out that I drew the Minister's attention to this matter previously and since then the double gates have been opened——

Have they made that amendment?

The Minister stated here earlier that perambulators could get in and I pointed out that the double gates were locked and that only the turnstiles were open to the public.

I am very much obliged to the Deputy for drawing the attention of the public to my benevolence.
