Vol. 151 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the holding of Miss Conlon, Ballintogher, County Sligo, for the relief of acute congestion in the area, and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of this estate.

asked the Minister for Lands when the lands of P. & J. Ryan, Limited, Ballybraher, Bally-cotton, County Cork, will be taken over by the Land Commission, and when they will be divided among the large number of uneconomic landholders in the district.

The Land Commission have certain dealings in hands in relation to this estate which must be regarded as confidential at present.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission are aware that Clonkoskerane estate, Dungarvan, County Waterford, is being offered for sale, and if, in view of the fact that there is a number of uneconomic holders in the area, whom these lands would greatly benefit, the commission will consider the propriety of acquiring them.

I have asked the Land Commission to look into this case.
