Vol. 151 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork-Bandon Bus Service.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state his objections to allowing a public licence to C.I.E. to provide a bus service from Cork City to Bandon, via Killeady and Crossbarry, and what action will have to be taken in order to solve the difficulties which exist.

It was not possible to approve of that portion of the route between Killeady cross roads and Priest's Bride, Ballinhassig, as a bus route, owing to the narrowness of the road which at some points is not more than 12 feet wide. In addition a stretch of the route of about 1¾ miles in length is not structurally sound. It is for the Cork County Council to initiate schemes for the improvement of these roads.
