The recommendations of the board of officers appointed in 1950 to survey the position arising from the shortage of houses for married soldiers are for departmental use only and I regret that I cannot make them available. I can assure the Deputy, however, that all possible steps are being taken to meet the shortage which undoubtedly exists.
A scheme of 88 houses at Blackhorse Avenue, Dublin, is nearing completion and proposals for the initiation of further schemes at military posts outside the Dublin area are at present under active consideration.
