Vol. 153 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Kerry Bridge.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the necessity for the erection of a new bridge to replace the old Flesk bridge, near Killarney, which is in danger of collapse and which because of its present condition is causing delay in the completion of the drainage of the river at Glenflesk; whether he has received proposals from the local authority in the matter, and, if so, what is the present position.

The Kerry County Council have submitted preliminary proposals for the reconstruction of Flesk Bridge, Killarney. A number of technical points raised on an examination of the proposals in the Department have still to be settled before the detailed planning of the project can be undertaken. It is understood that these points are at present being investigated by the council's consulting engineer.
