asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that some farmers with valuations of £60 to £65 are not in a position, without a grant, to carry out improvements to their homes; and, if so, if he will introduce legislation to enable farmers, whose valuations exceed £60, to avail of the grant for the reconstruction of dwelling houses.

Matters affecting housing grants will be reviewed before 31st March next, which is the expiring date of the relevant legislation. I am not in a position to make a statement on the matter in advance of the introduction of new legislation.
