Vol. 153 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Rehabilitation Association.

asked the Minister for Health whether the National Rehabilitation Association, Limited, propose to register all adults who are permanently incapacitated for gainful employment in their own homes, including those whose applications for disability allowances have been refused on medical grounds.

It is no part of the functions of the National Rehabilitation Association, Limited, to compile a register such as is indicated in the question nor can I see that such a register would serve any useful purpose at this stage. I understand, however, that the association intends to use particulars available in respect of applicants for disablement allowances in an effort to ascertain the size and precise nature of the problem of rehabilitation.
