Vol. 153 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Living Quarters.

andJ. Lynch asked the Minister for Defence whether, in view of the unsatisfactory living conditions of members of the Defence Forces stationed at Collins Barracks, Cork, and at Ballincollig, he will consider providing houses for them, as was done by his predecessor in respect of the Dublin area.

asked the Minister for Defence whether, in view of the fact that his Department has built houses for Army personnel in certain centres, he will favourably consider the initiation of similar schemes at the principal military posts in County Cork where suitable State lands are available.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 36 and 37 together.

The question of the provision of houses for Army personnel stationed at Collins Barracks, Cork, and at Ballincollig is at present under active consideration.
