asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, in regard to the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1948, (a) the name of each local authority which has adopted Part III of the Act, and the date of adoption in each case, (b) the name of each local authority which has not yet adopted Part III of the Act, and (c) the number of established servants on the Register of Established Servants, kept by each local authority, on 1st January of each year since the adoption of Part III of the Act.

The information requested by the Deputy at (c) is not available in the records of my Department except in relation to the year 1953 and then only in the case of certain local authorities. These figures, together with the information requested at (a) and (b), are in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.
