asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the three oil companies concerned have submitted detailed proposals for the establishment of an oil refinery; if so, whether these proposals have been approved by the Government and will be published to Dáil Éireann; and, if not, whether he is prepared to state the position in which the matter now stands.

The Industrial Development Authority recently received proposals from the companies concerned and they are at present engaged in the examination of these proposals. Pending the receipt of the authority's report I am not in a position to make a further statement on the matter.
