Vol. 155 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of Deale and Swillyburn.

andLiam Mac Cuinneagáin asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in regard to the proposals for the drainage of the Rivers Deale and Swillyburn (a) whether the preparation of plans has been completed, (b) when plans will be exhibited in Lifford, and (c) when it is expected that work on the scheme will commence.

The preparation of a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the drainage of the Rivers Deale and Swillyburn is now virtually complete and it is hoped to have the scheme exhibited, in accordance with the Act, at Lifford, within the next few months. Pending compliance with the statutory requirements as regards exhibition and confirmation of the scheme, it is not possible to say when works can be commenced.
