Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of Agene in Bread.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the date on which he received the report of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Flour and Bread, which examined the question of the use of agene in bread; whether he has completed his examination of the recommendations contained in the report, and, if so, with what result.

The report of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Flour and Bread was received by me on the 26th November, 1955. As indicated in reply to a previous question by the Deputy on 8th February, 1956, the recommendations made in the report are being examined in conjunction with the Department of Health. Until these consultations are concluded I will not be in a position to say what action may be taken on the recommendations contained in the report.
