Vol. 157 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Special Allowance Applications.

asked the Minister for Defence what is the present position in regard to the applications of Miss Mary Hogan, New Road, Thomondgate, Limerick, and Miss Mary Anne O'Neill, Thomondgate, Limerick, for special allowances, and if he will state (a) the date of each application, (b) the reasons for the delay in reaching decisions in view of the fact that all the necessary inquiries have been completed, and (c) when he expects to be in a position to issue decisions.

Applications for allowances under Part II of the Army Pensions Act, 1953, were received from Miss Mary Hogan, New Road, Thomondgate, Limerick, and Miss Mary Anne O'Neill, Thomondgate, Limerick, on 12th September, 1953, and 16th May, 1955, respectively.

Consideration of the cases is proceeding as expeditiously as possible having regard to the requirements of the Act.

I regret I cannot say when decisions are likely to be reached.
