Vol. 158 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Social Welfare Stamps.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the total number of agricultural social welfare stamps of the 2/6 denomination sold in each of the financial years 1953-54, 1954-55 and 1955-56, at postmasters' offices situate in (a) Cork and Cobh, (b) the remainder of the administrative County of Cork, and (c) each of the other administrative counties.

The 2,200 post offices where social welfare stamps are sold are grouped for general administrative purposes in head office districts which are determined by special departmental considerations and do not correspond to geographical or local government boundaries. The information in the form sought by the Deputy is not, therefore, readily available and could not be assembled without extensive research.
