Records of fishing boats, as kept in my Department, are compiled on the basis of gross tonnage. Privately-owned fishing boats based at Dunmore East, County Waterford, number 11 which are classified as follows:— 1st class motor boats (a) 25 ton gross and over, 3 boats; (b) 20 ton gross and over but less than 25 ton, 2 boats; (c) 15 ton gross and over but less than 20 ton, 2 boats; 2nd class motor boats (a) 10 ton gross and over but less than 15 ton and of 18 ft. keel and upwards, 2 boats; (b) under 10 ton and of 18 ft. keel and upwards, 2 boats.
