Vol. 159 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Compulsory Purchase Order.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received for confirmation from the Tipperary County Council, South Riding, a compulsory purchase order, No. 1 Purchase Order (Labourers' Cottages Acts), 1956, in respect of 52 labourers' cottages which the council have decided to erect; whether he is aware that agreement as to sites, compensation, etc., has been reached with the owners of the land in question; and whether, in view of the grave position in relation to housing obtaining in the area, he will confirm the order immediately.

I have received the compulsory purchase order in question and I am aware that the sites included in the order are being given voluntarily. Examination of the order is in progress. The Deputy may rest assured that no avoidable delay will occur in reaching a decision.
