asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of County Roscommon the total number of, and the amount spent on (a) rural improvement schemes, (b) bog development schemes, and (c) minor employment schemes in each year from 1947 to date.

NOTE: The figures of expenditure shown for Rural Improvement Schemes include the amounts paid out of local contributions received: for the years 1947/48 to 1952/53 they have been estimated on a percentage basis as in these years only the State grant expenditure was charged to the Vote Sub-head.

The figures of expenditure shown for Minor Employment and Bog Development Schemes are State grant figures only: normally no local contributions are payable for these schemes.
