Vol. 160 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Hospital Appointment.

asked the Minister for Health whether he has received proposals from the South Cork Board of Public Assistance for the appointment of an occupational therapist at St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Cork, and, if so, whether he intends to sanction such proposals.

I have not received a proposal from the Board of Public Assistance for the South Cork Public Assistance District to appoint an Occupational Therapist at St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital. The board has submitted a proposal to introduce Occupational Therapy experimentally in the hospital in the next financial year as no provision has been made in the board's estimate for the current year for this service.

The proposal of the board is under consideration in my Department.
