asked the Taoiseach if he will state the quantity and value of confectionery and biscuits imported in each year since 1950.
Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Confectionery and Biscuits.
Imports are brought to account by reference to the commodity descriptions in the Official Import List. This list distinguishes biscuits but not confectionery as such. I therefore propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing for each year 1950-56 the quantity and value of imports of biscuits and certain other items akin to confectionery of cocoa, sugar, or flour.
Following is the statement:—
