Vol. 161 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of houses required in Wexford town to solve the housing problem, and the number of families in need of rehousing.

On the basis of the most recent figures submitted by the Wexford Corporation, it appears that about 200 houses are required in Wexford borough to accommodate working class families who are in need of rehousing.

Has the Minister any information as to when the latest survey was taken?

That figure is based on a recent survey.

There was a survey held in 1947. There was one since then?

That is right and it is on the recent survey that that figure is based.

The Minister could not say when the survey was made?

Does the Deputy mean the last one?

I just cannot. I think I have the date here, but I cannot find it now. It was a recent survey.
