Vol. 161 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Airport.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when Cork may expect an airport adequate for its size and geographical position; and whether the present airfield at Farmer's Cross is suitable for scheduled services, and, if so, whether State assistance will be available for its further development.

The question of constructing a suitable airport at Cork is under consideration but I am not at present able to say when I may be in a position to make an announcement in the matter.

The existing airfield at Farmer's Cross is not suitable for scheduled services.
