An application has been received from the Reverend Manager for a grant towards the cost of erecting an additional classroom at Kilkerrin National School, County Galway. The Commissioners of Public Works are preparing plans for the extension of the school and as soon as they have been receive, my Department will communicate with the Reverened Manager.
I am not at present in a position to say when a grant towards the cost of the proposed scheme will be sanctioned by my Department, but the case will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible.

It is proposed to erect a new school to replace the present National School at Glynsk, Cashel, County Galway. A site for the new school has been offered by the Reverend Manager and my Department awaits a report from the Commissioners of Public Works as to its suitability. If the site is regard as acceptable, certain perliminary arrangments will have to be made before a grant can be sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of the new school and before a contract for its construction can be placed. These arrangements will necessarily take a considerable time to complete and I am unable to say at present when a grant for the school will be sanctioned or when building operations will be commenced.
