The total Exchequer expenditure on butter subsidy in the financial year 1956/57 was £2,744,000, which included £350,000 export subsidy. As indicated in the revised Estimate recently circulated under sub-head P of my Department's Vote, the estimated expenditure in 1957/58 is £666,000.
