asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the fact that there were no trade unionists on the Committee of Inquiry into Internal Transport, 1957, and in view of its importance to workers in the transport and haulage industry, he will submit as a matter of urgency the whole question of the position of C.I.E. and the internal haulage and transport system generally to a committee of the Provisional United Trade Union Organisation for their consideration, comments and suggestions.

The Provisional United Trade Union Organisation submitted written and oral evidence to the Committee of Inquiry into Internal Transport, and when the report became available, the two trade union congresses comprising the organisation were invited to furnish their observations on the recommendations and conclusions in the committee's report.
