Vol. 163 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment of Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether the order of priority of the payment of housing grants is determined solely by date of application, or whether other factors are taken into account.

Payments by my Department on foot of grants under the Housing Acts to private persons and public utility societies are in general governed by the date of notification by the applicant that the appropriate stage of work has been reached in respect of which payment can be made. Payment in each case is subject to the work being found satisfactory on inspection.
