asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction which is felt in regard to the fact that the first news broadcast from Radio Eireann on Sundays does not take place until 6.01 p.m.; and whether consideration will be given to the broadcasting of an additional news bulletin on Sundays in the morning or afternoon.

The Deputy may take it that there are limitations as to what can be done within Radio Éireann's financial resources in the way of providing additional news bulletins. Very extensive developments of the news-service have already been effected. I would personally like to see an extension of the Sunday bulletins whenever that is feasible and I have made a suggestion to that effect to Comhairle Radio Éireann.
