Vol. 164 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Cottage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause of the delay in sanctioning a scheme for 37 cottages, submitted by Tipperary South Riding County Council, eight of which are sited on the Bagwell estate, Marlfield, Clonmel.

No specific scheme for the provision of 37 cottages has been submitted to me by Tipperary (South Riding) County Council. Three compulsory purchase orders have, however, been submitted by the council covering the acquisition of 109 sites for 134 cottages. Of these sites, 66, for 79 cottages, have already been the subject of confirmation orders, and decisions covering a further 18 sites, for 27 cottages (including a site on the Bagwell estate, Marlfield, Clonmel, for eight cottages) will issue within the next few days. I hope to be in a position to decide on the remaining 25 sites for 28 cottages very shortly.
