asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the amount of money made available to Dublin County Council in the form of grants for road construction, maintenance, and repairs for the present financial year, and for each year since 1954, and further, whether a special grant will be made available to Dublin County Council for Christmas relief work in view of the large number of persons who are at present registered as unemployed.

NOTE 1.—The main road unkeep grant represents 40% of expenditure by the County Council on unkeep (generally maintenance and minor repairs) of main roads.
NOTE 2.— The improvement grants are 100% grants and relate to works such as construction, reconstruction and surfacing of roads.
NOTE 3.—Grants from the Employment and Emergency Schemes Vote are not included in the Improvement Grants above.
