Vol. 167 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tenants of G.N.R. Houses.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether G.N.R. employees and employees of the Dundalk Engineering Works who at present occupy houses owned by the G.N.R. Board will be permitted to remain in these houses after C.I.E. takes over the G.N.R. system in September next.

In the case of such houses occupied by employees of the Dundalk Engineering Works, Limited, it is my intention that they should be transferred to that company and that the remaining houses should become the property of C.I.E. It is for the boards of these concerns to determine the future occupancy of the houses but I have no reason to believe that they will wish to disturb tenants who will continue in their employment.
