Vol. 167 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of estates at present held by his Department in County Wexford, the names of such estates, the date of acquisition and when it is proposed to divide them.

In County Wexford, the Land Commission have on hands 765 acres on six estates, particulars of which are set out in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report. Schemes for the division of these estates are in course of preparation and there will be no avoidable delay in the disposal of the lands. In the year ended 31st March last, an area of some 300 acres was allotted.

Could the Minister say if a scheme is ready for the Deane estate? I take it, it is one which is on the list.

I am unable to say what stage of preparation the scheme for the Deane estate has reached.

I can tell the Minister that there was a scheme drafted some time ago and the estate is ready for division if the Minister will sanction the scheme.
