Vol. 168 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kanturk Fatality Inquiry.

asked the Minister for Health whether he has received the findings of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Denis O'Donovan, of Castlecor, Kanturk, County Cork; and, if not, when he expects to receive such findings.

I have not yet received the report of the inspector who conducted the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Denis O'Donovan. I understand that the inspector, who is in no way responsible for the delay which has taken place, hopes to be in a position to submit his report on this matter during the course of the current week.

Can the Minister not indicate what the cause of this quite apparent undue delay is? What is the cause?

If the Deputy wishes to put down a question to that effect, I can answer it. I do not think that it is a matter which should be raised by way of a supplementary question now.

The Minister must know. He knows and will not say.

He will say it later.

I know too.

Questio No. 7.

He has taken a vow silence to-day.

Long may it last.

Order! I have called on the Minister to answer Question No. 7.
