asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received a proposal from Kerry County Council to erect a further 100 single rural cottages; and, if so, if he will state the cause of the delay in giving the necessary sanction.

The proposal referred to by the Deputy was received in my Department on the 9th ultimo but it was not accompanied by the standard information which the county council was informed would be required in connection with all such proposals. The required particulars were furnished in respect of 26 of the 100 cases on the 24th ultimo and sanction to the erection of cottages in these 26 cases issued last week. There will be no delay in dealing with the other 74 cottages included in the proposal when similar particulars are submitted.
