Vol. 172 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Treatment in Military Hospitals for 1916 Men.

42.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider altering current regulations to enable 1916 men to secure medical and surgical treatment in military hospitals.

Under the Army Pensions Acts, free medical and surgical treatment may be granted on the recommendation of the Army Pensions Board to persons who are in receipt of temporary awards of pension under the Acts in respect of disability directly attributable to military service.

It would not be practicable to amend the Acts to make such treatment available to any other classes.
