Vol. 173 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Bray Motor Road.

53.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received any proposals from Dublin County Council for the provision of a modern motor way between Dublin and Bray; and, if so, whether he has approved of any such scheme; and if he will state the estimated total cost.

I have not received any such proposals from the Dublin County Council. Plans were prepared by the council some years ago for the substitution of dual carriageways for single carriageway sections of the Bray road at an estimated cost of £389,000, but the council did not proceed with the project. A proposal by the Dún Laoghaire Corporation for the improvement of the section of the road between Loughlinstown and Kill Brae at an estimated cost of £124,000 was approved by me last October. It is understood that the work will be carried out in the present year.
