Mr. Séamas Flanagan, an officer of my Department, was seconded for appointment as Chief Officer of Bord na gCon at the Board's request. I have no function in respect of the appointment of other officers of the Board.
That was not the question the Minister was asked—the names and addresses of the people appointed. I think the Minister should answer the question on the paper.
I have already made it clear that the Minister for Agriculture has no function except in connection with the chief officer for the first five years after the establishment of the Board.
But the Minister for Agriculture appointed the chairman and should be able to tell us who the officers are.
The Deputy is misinformed. It is not a question of officers and staff.
The Minister must be trying to hide something.
