Every effort is being made to expedite the allotment of lands on hands in Limerick, a total of 2,077 acres having been allotted in the financial year just ended. In the two previous years the area allotted was 948 and 263 acres, respectively. It is confidently expected that the present lands on hands will be generally allotted by next spring.

In the ordinary way, lists of the numerous Land Commission allottees and acreages of allotments in Limerick and all other counties will shortly be compiled for the General Valuation Office and considerable duplication would be entailed in the compilation of separate lists in advance of the valuation lists. If the Deputy is interested in any particular case and communicates with the Land Commission, the relevant particulars of allotments will be supplied to him.

26.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position regarding the Lower Sunville Estate, County Limerick; the total area acquired by the Land Commission; the names, occupations, and areas of the previous holdings of those offered a division; when the remainder of the Estate will be divided; and what considerations will be taken into consideration in allocating it.

Of 221 acres acquired, 97 acres were allotted last March. The names of allottees and appropriate particulars of allotments are being compiled and will be communicated to the Deputy as soon as possible. The Land Commission hope to allocate the remainder of the estate by next Spring.

The allocation considerations comprise all factors having a bearing on the relevant enactments viz. Section 31, Land Act, 1923, and Section 12, Land Act, 1950, the primary objective being the relief of congestion.
