There are some 275 applications for turbary pending in this district and the Land Commission are exploring the possibility of acquiring and developing bogs at Shannagurraun, Kilroe West, Boliska Eighter and Muckinakillew to meet the demand. Since 1952, the Land Commission have allotted over 300 turbary plots in this district.
