On the 2nd April, 1959, my Department received from Kildare County Council a request for approval to the acquisition of an alternative and more expensive housing site, slightly nearer to the village of Kill than a site the purchase of which was sanctioned in July, 1955. The Council was asked, on 4th April, to furnish particulars of housing needs in the area. A reply was received on 21st May but, as it did not contain the required detailed information, this has now been again requested.
