Mr. Norton

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of houses under construction by each local authority and the number of workers employed on such schemes on the 30th June, 1959, and on the corresponding date in 1956, 1957 and 1958.

Mr. Blaney

Figures are not yet available for the month of June, 1959. The information has accordingly been compiled on the basis of the position as at 31st May, 1959, and corresponding dates in the earlier years mentioned.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.
