Vol. 177 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Graughill (Mayo) Slip.

60.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position regarding the proposed slip at Graughill, County Mayo.

Facilities at Graughill acceptable to the local fishermen would be very costly in relation to the value of the fish landed there and would be suitable only for currachs. The possibility of providing a landing place in the vicinity at which small powered boats could be kept is being examined and an engineering report is awaited.

The Minister is aware that the only Bord Iascaigh Mhara boat based in that area was recently wrecked owing to the absence of these facilities?

The remaining questions will appear on to-morrow's Order Paper except in cases where Deputies accept written answers.
