In reply to a question by Deputy Blowick on 20 May last (Vol. 175, No. 2, Cols. 144-145 of the Dáil Debates) I gave in respect of each county the numbers of six-day and seven-day licensed premises respectively. As there are over 12,000 licences involved and over 3,000 district electoral divisions the considerable expenditure of time and labour which would arise from having to assign each licence to a district electoral division does not seem to me to be warranted. I trust the Deputy will not wish to press for information on the particular basis requested.
