Vol. 178 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Workers' Holidays.

91.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that forestry workers employed by the Forestry Section are being granted two holidays with pay less this year than last year; and whether, pending a full review of the holiday arrangements, he will grant forestry workers a holiday with pay on St. Stephen's Day this year.

Forestry workers are allowed their full statutory holiday entitlement each year. As a concession Church Holydays are allowed in lieu of Public Holidays, although there are two more Church Holydays than Public Holidays. The number of Church Holydays was reduced this this year.

It is not the intention to grant St. Stephen's Day as a paid holiday to Forestry workers this year.
