asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will give the following particulars in respect of each Irish diplomatic mission and consular office abroad:— (a) the date and status of each such mission and office when first opened, (b) in cases where the status of such mission or office has been altered, the date or dates upon which the status of such mission or office was altered, and (c) the new status given to such mission or office.

The particulars requested by the Deputy in respect of existing Irish diplomatic missions and consular offices staffed by officers of my Department are as follows:

1 The Ambassador to France is also Head of the Permanent Delegation to OEEC.

2 No permanent establishment is maintained at Ankara, Vienna or Oslo. The Ministers Plenipotentiary to Turkey, Austria and Norway are also accredited to Italy, Switzerland and Sweden, respectively.

3 Until 1950 the Minister Plenipotentiary to Belgium was also accredited to France and resided in Paris.

4 The Ambassador to Belgium is also Head of the Mission to EEC.

5 A Consulate-General existed from 1950 until the establishment of a Legation.
