Vol. 179 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Kerry Tourist Road.

38.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the byroad leading from Gearhameen Cross, County Kerry on the Dunloe Gap county road to the Toll Gate, for the maintenance of which the Office of Public Works is responsible, is in a deplorable state of repair and is much used by tourists on the Dunloe GapLakes of Killarney tour; and if he will make the financial provision necessary to keep this half-mile stretch of tourist road in a proper and permanent state of repair.

I am advised that maintenance work on the portion of the roadway concerned which lies within the Brown Vincent Memorial Park and which is subject to scouring by Winter floods is carried out as required. Arrangements have been made to have any repairs now necessary completed in time for the coming tourist season.
