Under the Undeveloped Areas Act, 1952, An Foras Tionscal may make grants to industrial promoters covering the full cost of the purchase and development of sites required for industrial undertakings to be established in the undeveloped areas. In the circumstances the question of the subsidisation of the purchase of industrial sites by me does not arise.
Would the Minister consider the acquisition of sites where it is likely an industry will be lost due to the fact that a site is not available?
I have no evidence that there was a likelihood of an industry being lost for want of a site.
If the danger arises will the Minister consider such acquisition?
